Sugar Beet Co-op

Sugar Beet Coop is a locally owned grocery store and community hub that provides the neighborhood with local, sustainable, healthy foods. Civic Projects partnered with Hammersley Architecture to design the space and develop multi-scalar components for the space — from wine displays and coffee tables to a multi-level service counter. A small café and cooking demonstration area brings community members together in the space, while a full-service grocery store provides access to healthy foods and gives emerging entrepreneurs a venue for their products. The space bolsters the mission of Sugar Beet Coop, serving the surrounding communities by also providing education and resources for healthy eating.
