Sunshine Gospel Ministries has engaged Civic Projects to design a proposed community center on currently vacant block at 60th and MLK Drive in Washington Park. The SCC will provide much-needed high-quality community space, including a dance studio, gym, indoor basketball courts, office space for Sunshine Gospel Ministries and Enterprises staff, youth and senior spaces, as well as retail space, multipurpose, and landscaped outdoor space. The Sunshine Gospel Ministries recently received a large grant to help the cost of construction.

The plan includes integrated outdoor play areas and a pedestrian-friendly entrance along MLK Drive, while also providing protected parking.
